Landmarks in Clinical Microbiology: an Editor's Perspective
Presented by Alexander McAdam, MD, PhD, D(ABMM)
Chief, Department of Laboratory Medicine and 2025-2026 President of the American Society for Microbiology
Dr. McAdam is an Associate Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School, where he oversees integration of microbiology throughout the medical curriculum. He was the Editor-in-chief of the Journal of Clinical Microbiology, and is an editor of both the Manual of Clinical Microbiology and the new Manual of Molecular Microbiology. His research focus is on the utility of diagnostic tests for infectious diseases in children and on evolution of bacteria during chronic infections of humans.
