A Gateway into Understanding the Unique Vertex of Giant Viruses

Dr. Parent’s lab uses electron cryo-microscopy (cryo-EM) and three-dimensional image reconstruction methods to study the mechanisms that control virus infection and virus assembly processes, including giant viruses that are larger in size and have larger genomes than many cellular organisms and exist on the interface between the living and the non-living.
